This game was played under blizzardlike conditions in the middle of the Chicago winter. The 5000 fans in attendance were quoted as being "impervious to the cold and snow." There were many fumbles in the game and no one scored until the Bears kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter that turned out to be all they would need.

It was so cold and snowy outside that the game was forced indoors to Chicago Stadium. The Bears triumphed on the shortened field in winning their second championship title

The night before the game a freezing rain fell steadily making the field a frozen patch of ice. The Bears led 10-3 at the half. At this time the head coach of the Giants sent the equipment manager to find shoes with more traction. The Giants came out in the second half and scored 27 fourth quarter points with their improved footwear and dismantled the Bears 30-13. Although they lost, this Bears team is still thought to be one of the best in football history. Coming into this game they were riding a 13-game win streak and a 23 game unbeaten streak. They had also outscored opponents up until then that season 286-86.

In a game reminiscent of the Sneaker Game I, the Giants came out wearing the proper footwear and rattled off a 34-7 halftime lead. The Bears switched at halfime, but it was far to late.

The game started in sunshine, but soon a dense fog rolled in off of Lake Michigan. The fog was so bad that the game was a mystery to most of the fans in attendance. They were forced to rely on the few people who could see what was going on to know when to cheer.
